"Turns out all we needed was a little more of.. this." This movie was amazing, purely spectacular! To be honest, I was a little disappointed at the beginning part because it was turning out to be a SPIN-OFF of the actual book. And I'm still a little upset, but towards the middle I started to pay attention to the witty humor, the phenomenal visuals, and the endearing characters who just make you fall in love with them (even the obnoxious ones!) Do I have to remind you one more time how amazing it was? This movie starts on the island of Berk, home of Vikings - and the dragons, also known as the "pests." They steal sheep and food from the Vikings, and this makes the Vikings angry - so angry, in fact, that they want to actually kill the dragons. And of course, killing the dragons is everything around here - for generations, the Vikings have been trying to find the "Dragon Hole", which is supposedly the dragon's home where they take the food. Now enters our hero, Hiccup - though he wouldn't seem like it at first. While other Vikings the same age as him are tough and basically, Viking-like, he is a "talking fishbone" and often seems to mess up everything. Since there's no one to take care of Hiccup while the Vikings are going on ANOTHER mission to find the Dragon Hole, Stoick the Vast, Hiccup's father, leaves him to learn to fight dragons with the other teenager Vikings. All his life Hiccup wanted to kill dragons just so he could be accepted by the Vikings, but when he discovers a Night Fury without its wing, he can't bring himself to kill it. Dragon training goes horribly - often ending with him upsetting his crush, Astrid, and making her VERY angry - until he starts to train the injured Night Fury, who he calls Toothless. He starts to learn how to tame dragons without killing them, and befriends dragons, even making Toothless a mechanical wing and learning how to ride on him. Unfortunately, Astrid soon finds out he has been harboring Toothless and confronts Hiccup, but not before she is taken on the ride of her life! And then finds the Dragon Hole and finds a big, scary, HUGE dragon that kind of wants to eat Toothless. You see, the dragons only stole from the Vikings because they had to - if they didn't give food to the big dragon, the big dragon would eat them. So now Hiccup is faced with two challenges - first, he has to kill a Monstrous Nightmare tomorrow, and second - if he gives away the secret of the Dragon Hole, he will reveal Toothless - and Vikings do NOT react well to secrets or, especially dragons. What will Hiccup do? Is he doomed? Watch this again, MARVELOUS movie to find out!
