When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away inside their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and on the way, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help. This movie is a classic! I love the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and how the movie turns from black and white to color. (Fun fact: This movie was NOT the first to have color!)

I loved this old timey movie. I love fantasy and it shocked me when it swiched was technicolor when she's is whisked away to Oz. I highly recommend this movie.
The Wizard of Oz will, beyond question, be accorded recognition as a milestone in motion picture history. The Wizard of Oz is worthy of your best adjectives -- a super-colossal in ever sense of the phrase and one which can not be compared to anything else ever attempted on the screen. It is, of course, a "must" for the juveniles, and they will have a high old time. This is a real fairy tale, brought to the screen with all the trappings, colour, and wondrous charm of the printed word that has kept many a youngster late for dinner. The greater scope of the screen has allowed vastly more latitude in the presentation than is possible on the stage, and with a cast of popular and capable players The Wizard of Oz is one of the season's finest attractions. A colourful mixture of childish fantasy and adult satire and humour of a kind thatnever seems to grow old, The Wizard of Oz, looks like duplicating the success achieved by Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A classic of cinema, with a broadway musical brought to the big screen in colour. Full of memorable songs and unforgettable scenes. The new 3D presentation brings the black & white scenes to life, whilst some of the colour scenes, particularly the wider shots, are too soft, but mostly it's excellent. One of the rare classics that has actually managed to achieve the coveted status of being impervious to criticism . . . although, I get the sense that anyone who wants to nitpick the film or even openly hate it is only doing so to draw attention to themselves. Its pure magic from start to finish. I could watch it a thousand times and still be filled with pure, unadulterated joy each time. We're off to see the wizard, the adequately entertaining, but somewhat dated and narratively thin 'Wizard of Oz'!" Yeah, they might be giving this film a bit more credit than it deserves just for being old, as well as innovative for its time, even when it comes to tone, because, let me tell you, when I was a kid, even I got kind of freaked out by the flying monkeys, and in 1939, I bet that they left the grown men stuttering like the Cowardly Lion for the next couple Judy Garland films, though that may have just been Garland's legs after she got good and grown up. It's good that she had that going for her after this film. The Wizard of Oz is a really good movie that everyone must see, but I think it's a bit unffair to call it a masterpiece. When a misunderstood Kansas farm girl and her dog are whisked away to the magical land of Oz by a violent tornado, she encounters a few friends that are in need of help. Together, Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow seek out a mysteriously powerful wizard who sends them on an adventure to kill a wicked witch. This timeless story required and possessed some remarkably innovative visual effects and an assiduous cast. Both aesthetically pleasant and strangely, super meaningful, this film is a prime example of something that can satisfy all types of moviegoers: the thinker and the observer. The Wizard of Oz is perhaps the most consequential family fantasy film to date and I highly recommend this splendiferous musical to all audiences! 91%! Very, very great classic but that doesnt make it a ideal movie, but maybe first and most important- pros. This movie is so ahead of its time. Special effects even though got a little old are still amazing as again - THIS IS A MOVIE FROM 40S! Music is such a classic. The most cultitive song is "Somewhere over the rainbow" and while listening to it, i almost fell asleep because it's so calming. But it ain't perfect as said. This section will contain ! SPOILERS ! The "Wizard" of Oz somehow knows why they came (what they wanted to get, lion wanted courage etc) while we find out that he was just a falsifier. Also if the witch without ruby slippers doesn't have any power then how did she make the field bloom with flowers. There were some more incorrectness but they were so small i managed to forgot it.
It is good and very good.- It is a classic film the wizard of oz tells the story of Dorothy running away from home and gets lost in a tornado 😱 she ends in up Oz 😲 where she meets a good witch she follows the yellow brick road 👌 and meets three guys there names are the scarcrow and Tin man and lion it is like Narina but that came out 67 years later in 2005 anyways she goes through trouble and she kills the wicked witch and meets the wizard of Oz in the end. We're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of Oz PS she died in 1969 aged 47 years. R.i.p Judy Garland 1922-1969 47 years (97) rest in peace.
