The Vault of Shadows, the second book of The Nightsiders series, takes place a little after Milo and his friends steal the Heart of Darkness (the only gateway left for the Nightsiders, creatures of mystery and fantasy trying to get back home). However, the alien bugs are brooding and it's up to Milo and his friend are set in for an adventure. The reason I connected to this book is because of it's cool end of the world apocalypse theme. The pacing is wonderful, the character dynamics are great and the story and plot itself if breathtaking, that's why this review is 5 stars. So I would absolutely recommend this book to you after you read the first one (don't make the mistake that I did. I learned that lesson the hard way).Over 4 years agosophia_g has read this book.

Three best friends Maddie, angela, and Zoe go through a tough journey of tenth grade why deal with teachers and bullies. They deal with all this stuff at talking to each other about it over texting each other. I picked this book I deal with school problems and it related to me. I am rating this book for stars Because it was fun but at some points, it got really boring.Over 4 years agosophia_g added a book review.
Tales from the Odyssey (part two) Is the continuation of the first part of Tales from the Odyssey. As Odysseus continues his journey, his wife(Penelope) and son(Telemachus) long for his return to home as power-hungry suitors is looking for Penelope's hand in marriage. One day Telemachus has had enough and decides two set out on an adventure to look for his missing father. Unknowing to him, there will be more adventure than he thinks. I connected to this book due to my love of Greek myths and tales, as there's always some type of adventure just waiting to be read. I read the first part deciding it would be a good idea, and I was right! The book's way of storytelling is great and as someone who enjoys these kind of books, I can tell you that it was worth the time to read (after you read the first part). Overall, a great book with a great story 5/5 stars.Over 4 years agopeytonestrada added a book review.
Wonder is about a little boy who has a face deformity and how he learns to befriend his classmates. He goes through struggles and tough emotions. I connected to this book because it shows every one deserves a chance. I give it a four-star because it's really nice that it shows every one gets a chance.Over 4 years agopeytonestrada has read this book.

Stanley Yelnats has been convicted of a crime he didn't even commit. Because of this, he's been sent to Camp Green Lake, a camp that is supposed to build character and bring boys back to society. When Stanley gets there, he makes some friends and finds out that the Warden is making the boys dig holes not to build character, but to find a legendary secret treasure, that his great-great-grandfather supposedly had something to do with. Will he ever find the treasure? Will he ever get his crime justified and escape Camp Green Lake? Read Holes by Louis Sachar to find out. I connected to this book because Stanley takes the blame for things he didn't do, and I have done that before. I give this book 4 stars because the story plot was good, but the cutting back and forth to the past and present was confusing, and the resolution was predictable in some parts.Over 4 years agoabi_k_12 added a book review.
