Genre: Comedy and Adventure Theme: friendship makes life more fun and enjoyable And then it happened is a 12 part book series. Each book is a collection of funny short stories, about three best friends who get into a lot of trouble coming up with stupid but creative ideas. In every story the boys make up a problem for themselves and some crazy solution. Something always goes wrong and that's where the line “and then it happened” appears. The three main characters are Gordon, Paulo and the narrator whose name was never told. Gordon is the idea maker, Paulo is the handy man and the narrator tells the stories from his perspective. The book takes place at their 3 houses, at school and in their communities. The town is small and only has 4 police cars. I really enjoyed reading the first 4 books of the series. They are funny and easy to read. Each story is 3 to 6 pages and I recommend this book to 8 to 11 year old boys.

I am reading a book called“The Rule of Three,” by Eric Walters. I like this book a lot. It is about when all the power goes out, anything with a computer in it stops working and how people react. It was recommended to me by many people. I recommend this book for people who like natural disaster books, and fans of the “Divergent,” series. I would say this is a science fiction adventure. This book is like a realistic modern day apocalypse. There are a few main characters, Adam and his best friend Todd are just some. In this book, there are many main characters, but my favorite is Todd. Todd is the narrator's best friend and he is sort of underestimated. He doesn't do anything important but is a crucial part in the book. He is my favorite character for 3 main reasons. First of all, he is funny. An example of when he was asked to babysit Adams (the narrator) 2 younger siblings who are getting ice cream from a neighbor's house, he says, “Do I get ice cream too?” Second, he is tough. He plays a lot of football and was disappointed when he found out that Adam skipped the football team for flight school. Finally, he is also sarcastic. One time he was sarcastic was when he was in the library doing his assignment with Adam, 40 minutes before it was due and Adam was giving him a lecture about not doing things the last minute, but Todd said it wasn’t last minute because there were 40 minutes until it was due. All the main characters in this book are very lovable, but Todd is my favorite. The main problem of the book is that all the power went out and so did anything with a computer. Only cars like Adam's still run because old cars don’t have computers in them, and his is pretty old. The outage of computers is causing explosions and crimes because the cops can’t work as efficiently without computers and communication. The problem in this book is very well thought up and it is one of the best books I know. Another thing I like about this book is the solution isn’t obvious at all so it leaves you thinking about what the characters are going to do about the current problem. The problem lasts 3 books and it never gets boring. I wasn’t able to stop reading this book for a while. I highly recommend this book. This book has many settings, except all the settings are in one neighborhood because the characters are isolated and don’t know what's happening in the world around them. It makes the world seem bigger than it is because fifty pages in, they have been traveling for most of the time and they have only stayed within around 5 miles. All the settings make sense according to what's happening in the story, and they are realistic. That concludes my review on “The Rule of Three.” I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5. To improve this book, I think they could set up the book more because they just went straight into the power going out. This could have helped me understand the characters more. I like this book for all the reasons I said. This is one of my favorite books and I encourage you to read it.

Epic Kids World War 2 Story. This Canadian, Action, Historical Fiction sequel to Camp X will blow you away. Eric Walters does an excellent job using characters new, old and fact to put a marvelous non-fiction setting and cool 1943 ish world into his story. Using 50% real characters and setting Eric balances fact and fiction to motivate readers to flip to the next page. The way Eric uses his storytelling skills you know that Jack and George are just pieces in a big game but they think they are only keeping their eyes and ears open. They think they are delivering mail but they are doing much more than that. They are aiding the Canadian army by spying on the Prisoners while aiding the Nazi’s as well. The boys will be tricked, befriended, betrayed and well naturally go on a big adventure from in and out of the Prisoner Of War camp: Camp 30. My favourite character is Little Bill because he is big and important and the boys are always like omg are we in trouble this dude is important. Overall Camp 30 the sequel to Camp X is an amazing book!
